We do provide electronic tickets to graduates for reserved seating for guests with wheelchairs. Graduates will need to include accommodation needs when registering.

Please note that these invitations and announcements are not used as tickets and are not required for admission to any Commencement ceremony or activity.

Yes, there is a Mid-Year Baccalaureate Mass and Address in honor of December graduates. The Mass and Address are not a formal graduation ceremony, and no diplomas are presented. December graduates are invited to participate in the University Commencement in May. Students who plan to attend the May Commencement Exercises must notify their Dean's office.
Arriving
The majority of parents arrive on Saturday to take part in both the Sunday and Monday programs and events.
Departing
Since all graduates will depart from Boston College on Monday in the late afternoon or early evening, parents should plan to do the same.
University residence halls will officially close at 8:00 p.m. on Commencement Day.
Visit the Residential Life website for more information.
No, we are unable to offer space for private functions because due to the many University-sponsored events taking place on campus. We would suggest that you contact a local restaurant or hotel for private functions. Individual school/college diploma ceremonies should be completed between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m.
It is recommended that guests plan their attire based on the weather. The weather in the Boston area in May ranges from extremely hot and humid to very cool and possibly rainy. The campus terrain is quite hilly, so comfortable shoes are highly recommended. Most guests prefer business casual attire.
Boston College is committed to supporting parents and strives to provide adequate, functional space to meet a nursing parent's needs on a timely basis. There are a number of dedicated lactation rooms on all campuses.
If you need a lactation room on the day of Commencement, please call Anthoula Gounalakis at 617-552-2323 or email lactation@dos5.net.
Please be considerate of others and knock before entering.
For more information visit the Lactation Rooms page.
