Internships
Internships are available for Boston College Lynch School of Education Mental Health Counseling Psychology students and Boston College Graduate School of Social Work students. All internships are unpaid and are reserved for students who require placements for their graduate programs.
The Alcohol and Drug Education Program internship may be a good fit for a Graduate Student who:

- Has an interest in gaining clinical experience addressing substance abuse with cognitively high functioning clients with low to moderate psychopathology
- Draws satisfaction from helping young adults with considerable personal potential improve self-efficacy, self-esteem and life performance
- May benefit from implementing individual and group programs that are evidence based, highly structured, and utilize motivational interviewing techniques, following a harm reduction approach
Major responsibilities include:
- Provide brief individual counseling to Boston College undergraduate students referred through the conduct system using the BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students) program.
- Co-facilitating three 90-minute group meetings per semester for 3-8 undergraduate students referred through the conduct system.
- Participating in campus wide programming and community outreach
We interview qualified candidates in late February. Interested candidates are welcome to email a resume and cover letter to Jeannine Kremer, jeannine.kremer@dos5.net. Selected interns will begin training during late August.
